MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
As the newly appointed Principal of Visakha, I feel
deeply honoured to serve as the Head of this prestigious institution and it
is indeed a pleasure to pen a few words to the web page of Visakha Vidyalaya.
From humble beginnings in 1917,
Visakha has grown greatly in stature and today she is undoubtedly the best
girls’ school in Sri Lanka. During a short span of eighty six years the
school has produced women of distinction having excelled in many and diverse
disciplines spread out in many parts of the world. They carry with them the
characters moulded in them during their school days, those exemplified by
the noble woman of ancient times, whose name adorns our school and whose
virtues are sung in our school anthem thus-
Visakha has given of her best to her
“daughters” and we at Visakha rejoice in their manifold achievements. I am
indeed pleased to note that past Visakhians have formed branch associations
in many countries, thereby nurturing the bonds between them, whilst
supporting their alma mater.
Dear daughters of Visakha, may you
shine bright and dispel the darkness where ever you go and may the noble
Triple Gem bless and protect you all and your families!
