Message from the Principal
It gives me great pleasure to contribute this message at the creation of the Visakha Vidyalaya official web page. Visakha Vidyalaya has long been acclaimed as the leading girls' school in Sri Lanka. This enviable position has been reached in a relatively short span of 80 years. I pay tribute to the wisdom and far-sightedness of her Founder, to the commitment of the long line of illustrious Past Principals, to the dedication of the Academic Staff and to the loyalty of Old Girls and Well Wishers who have contributed to the growth and success of the school.
It has always been a characteristic of Visakha that whilst its roots ever
remain deeply entrenched in the cultural and religious background of our
country, she yet prepares her students to face the challenges of the future,
one inevitably linked to advanced technology. Whilst stepping into a new
century, it is hoped that this web page will foster and sustain the bonds
that link Visakha with her past students now dispersed in all corners of the
world.
