The website founded by Mihiri de Silva Udawatte (FYVV : 1976) in the USA & Dr. Priya De Silva (FYVV: 1962), was launched on 4th April 1998 with the approval of the VVOGA & the SDS, to be managed by the OGA. The site was initially hosted by Gamini Gunaratna in the USA free of charge, then by Hurricane Electric USA sponsored by Chintanie Wettasinghe (FYVV : 1985) also in the USA, who also maintained the website up to 2003. Since then the website is being managed by Prasangi Dayaratne (FYVV : 1995). In 2010, the Visakha Vidyalaya Alumni of Southern California sponsored the hosting fee as well as the domain name fee to ensure the validity of the website up to November 2020.
